39 COUPLES tie knot AT NIRANKARI MASS WEDDING CEREMONY

M4PNews | Chandigarh

Sanyojak Chandigarh branch told that Thirty-nine couples tied their nuptial knot at a mass marriage ceremony organized by the Social Welfare Department of the Sant Nirankari Mission today. The mass marriages were organized in a simple ceremony held at Samagam Ground, Burari Road, Delhi  just two days after the 70th Annual Nirankari Sant Samagam held from November 18 to 20, 2017. While Satguru Mata Savinder Hardev Ji Maharaj blessed the couples, thousands of devotees including the parents, friends and relatives of the brides and bridegrooms, attended the ceremony.

Among bridegrooms, one from Chandigarh and three came from abroad – two from USA and one from Canada. Among those belonging to India, 16 bridegrooms came from Delhi followed by 6 from Haryana and 5 from Punjab. Two each came from Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand and one each from Maharashtra and Chhattisgarh. As regards brides, one came from USA and one from Canada, 13 from Delhi, 7 from Punjab, 4 from Uttar Pradesh, 3 from Himachal Pradesh, 2 each from Haryana, Uttarakhand, Bihar and Maharashtra, and one each from Chandigarh and Madhya Pradesh.

In terms of couples, one each belonged to USA, Canada, Chandigarh and Maharashtra, while 12 came from Delhi, 4 from Punjab and 2 each from Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand. The other 11 weddings were either Inter-country or Inter-State. Caste or religion is no factor in a Nirankari marriage.

Ever since Satguru Mata Savinder Hardev Ji Maharaj emerged as Head of the Sant Nirankari Mission in May, 2016, it was for the first time that Her Holiness blessed this Mass Wedding ceremony in Delhi. The simple ceremony was marked by the traditional Jaymala followed by a Common Garland for each couple – a special feature of a Nirankari wedding. Four sacred hymns (Lawan) were recited by singers with full spirit of devotion. Simultaneously, Her Holiness Satguru Mata Savinder Hardev Ji Maharaj showered the flower-petals from the dais. The devotees also joined in showering the flowers.

A highlight of today’s function was that both the bride and bridegrooms from USA were the members of the team of Chiropractic doctors who put up their own treatment camp for Orthopedic (Neuro) patients during the 3-day 70th Annual Nirankari Sant Samagam. The bride’s father is also a leading member of the team. Both the doctors who got married today have received God-knowledge (Brahmgyan).

The bridegroom from Canada who married a girl from Punjab is also Canadian. Another coincidence was that 2 daughters from one family got married to the two sons of another family, both belonging to Panipat in Haryana.

Blessing the couples Satguru Mata Ji said that their life may be as beautiful and fragrant as the flowers showered on them during the ceremony. Her Holiness advised them to do Satsang, Sewa and Sumiran to make life materially prosperous and spiritually blissful.
