Punjab Home Minister should resign: Kejriwal
On nabha jail break Punjab Congress president Captain Amarinder Singh has alleged connivance of the SAD-BJP government of Punjab in the brazen daylight Nabha jail break on Sunday.
Amarinder said “the incident had exposed a complete breakdown of law and order in the state, while triggering fears of revival of terrorism ahead of the Assembly elections”.
The shocking manner in which the gangsters walked into the high-security jail and freed a dreaded Khalistani terrorist along with other convicts clearly shows complicity at the highest levels, said Amarinder.
Talking to media persons at Sangrur during the second day of the second phase of his roadshow Captain Amarinder said the law and order situation in the state had deteriorated to unprecedented levels under the Badal regime that too at a time when the Assembly polls are round the corner.
On the other hand AAP national convener and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal tweeted that Punjab Home Minister should immediately resign taking responsibility of jailbreak and killing of innocent girl by Punjab police. Deputy CM Sukhbir Badal also holds Home portfolio. — TNS/Agencies
After a group of armed men in police uniform broke into Nabha prison in Punjab’s Patiala district on Sunday and helped several inmates escape, including dreaded Khalistan ultra and Khalistan Liberation Force (KLF) chief Harminder Mintoo, the jail superintendent, deputy superintendent have been sacked and the DG Prisons has been suspended, media reports said. The other fugitives include gangsters Neeta Deol, Vicky Gonder, Amandeep Doda, and another terrorist Kashmir Galwaddi.
